About A Step Ahead

A Step Ahead Dance Studio opened its doors in 1998 with 11 students. Still located in downtown Council Bluffs on the east side of Bayliss park, we now have over 400 students, including students from the original eleven that walk through our doors every week. We are a family-oriented studio whose vision is to have every student dance to their fullest potential.

The studio offers 2 dance rooms, a large gymnastics area and an opening and inviting lobby area with several wall mounted televisions to watch your child in action.  Specializing in ages 3 and up, we have offer classes in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Hip Hop and various levels of gymnastics.

 

A Step Ahead Dance Studio and Gymnastics Center is dedicated to each and every student. With our knowledgeable and motivated staff, students leave class with a feeling of self-confidence and pride. 

We have sent our dancers all over the United States to showcase their talents. A Step Ahead Dance Studio's dancers have performed at the:

  • Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City

  • AT&TT Cotton Bowl Half Time Show in Dallas, Texas

  • FedEx Orange Bowl Half Time Show in Miami, Florida

  • Harlem Globetrotter's Half Time Show TWICE

  • Disney World's Magic Kingdom Parade TWICE

Our dancers have competed in numerous competitions and danced with cast members through Broadway Connections from musicals such as:

  • Legally Blonde The Musical

  • West Side Story

  • Marry Poppins

  • Shrek The Musical

  • The Lion King

  • Beauty and the Beast

  • Dirty Dancing

  • Little Mermaid
